The notorious warlock Johnny Spectre has died. His private collection of coveted ancient artifacts, including The Staff of the Crimson Moon, is now up for auction. This exclusive invitation-only event has attracted a who's who of the mystical underworld. Among them is Doctor Rand, who is convinced the staff holds the secret to making his Kiloworg werewolves unstoppable.  Also in attendance is Mr. Legacy, the foremost historian of the arcane.  He and Declan Van Helsing suspect the Forgotten King will attempt to claim the rare red moonstone contained in the staff.  If so, it would be the first time Monster Force has advance notice of where the Forgotten King will appear - so they set up a heavily armed ambush.
 
But what Declan doesn’t realize is that new players are infiltrating the auction as well - those who want to buy the staff, those who want to destroy it, and those who want to steal it.
